TEAM26 TAKES CENTER STAGE AT SAN SIRO OLYMPIC STADIUM: 900 VOLUNTEERS AT THE OLYMPIC OPENING CEREMONY
Milan, 6 February 2026 – 900 volunteers from the Milano Cortina 2026 Team26 will be mobilized behind the scenes at tonight’s Olympic Opening Ceremony at San Siro Olympic Stadium.
In addition to the Team26 members, 1,200 volunteers will take part in the Ceremony’s performance, supporting more than 150 professionals involved in the show.
These numbers highlight the central role of volunteers in the operational activities of Milano Cortina 2026 and in the success of the Opening Ceremony, designed as a celebration of Olympic, sporting, and cultural values.
The team of Team26 volunteers is large and diverse: 65% are women, 97% come from Italy, and the remaining 3% from other countries.
The age range is equally varied: 38% are between 18 and 25, 56% between 26 and 65, and 5% are over 65, bringing together energy, skills, and experience.
After days of intense preparation, this evening represents a truly special moment for them.
Being part of a historic event for Milano and for Italy fills Team26 with pride and emotion, turning every moment into a unique and unforgettable experience.
Looking ahead to Ceremony night, volunteers share a simple message with the audience: “Enjoy the Ceremony with your family and friends,” one volunteer said.
